Benjamin Friars-Funkhouser came out of Seattle's punk scene as a teenager, joined GothBoiClique in Los Angeles and now lives in Olympia, Washington. He builds tracks from live guitar rather than samples, mixing emo rap, indie rock and post-punk, and produced Lil Peep's Goth Angel Sinner in 2019 and Horse Head's This Mess Is My Mess. His own albums are WiLDFiRE in 2020, Camouflage in 2022, Fruiting Body in 2023 and Frog Song in 2025.
Why Tubby's: A fearless Midtown Kingston spot with a nationally respected underground booking: punk, experimental, global and DJ nights, plus great natural wine.
