JP Harris' Dreadful Wind & Rain with Sophie Mae Wellington
Clawhammer banjo and old-time ballads from the Nashville country singer who left Alabama at 14, rode freight trains, herded sheep in Arizona and lived nearly thirteen years in a Vermont cabin without electricity. Dreadful Wind and Rain is his duo with Chance McCoy of Old Crow Medicine Show; they cut Don't You Marry No Railroad Man in 2021. Harris builds open-back banjos and restores historic buildings as a carpenter.
Why TEMPO Performing Arts Center: An 1867 Rondout church reborn as a community arts center, big on world music and roots jams.
