Lew Tabackin's Dual Nature Trio
Tenor saxophone and flute, played by a Philadelphia born musician who co-founded the Toshiko Akiyoshi, Lew Tabackin Big Band in 1973 and was its principal soloist for thirty years, drawing Grammy nominations for Long Yellow Road, Road Time, Insights and Kogun. Here he works in trio with bassist Peter Washington and drummer Jason Tiemann, switching between forceful hard bop tenor and quieter, cross cultural flute writing.
