LOS CUMPLEAÑOS
A New York quartet playing tropical rhythms pushed into free form: Nestor Gomez Jr. from Barranquilla, Colombia on percussion and vocals, Lautaro Burgos from Chaco, Argentina on drums, Eric Lane on keyboards and Alex Asher on trombone. They name Colombian accordionist Lisandro Meza, Sun Ra, Flying Lotus and Tame Impala as reference points. Their debut EP Agua came out in May 2020.
Why Tubby's: A fearless Midtown Kingston spot with a nationally respected underground booking: punk, experimental, global and DJ nights, plus great natural wine.
