The Bones of J.R. Jones
Jonathon Linaberry's one man band project, run from a farmhouse in Delhi in the western Catskills, where he says his life slows down. He came up in hardcore and punk bands before turning to gospel, folk and Delta blues, and plays most of the instruments himself, banjo and pedal steel included. Slow Lightning arrived in 2023; Radio Waves, his first album with an outside producer, Robbie Lackritz, followed.
Why Colony: From Dylan-era folkies to today's indie acts, everyone passes through this 1929 art-deco landmark, and the tree-lit back garden is one of the best summer hangs in town.
