The Weight Band
Formed in 2013 in the barn at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock to carry on The Band's repertoire, led by guitarist Jim Weider, a former member of The Band. Brian Mitchell plays keyboards, having come out of the Levon Helm Band, with Albert Rogers on bass and Michael Bram on drums. Albums include World Gone Mad in 2018 and Shines Like Gold, plus an acoustic live record cut at Big Pink.
Why Bethel Woods Center for the Arts: Built on the actual field where the 1969 Woodstock festival happened, now a major outdoor pavilion with a '60s museum.
