Weird Nightmare
The solo outlet for Alex Edkins, singer and guitarist of the Canadian noise rock trio METZ, trading that band's bludgeon for fuzz-coated guitar pop. The self-titled debut came out on Sub Pop in 2022, with Loel Campbell of Wintersleep on drums and guest turns from Alicia Bognanno and Chad VanGaalen. Hoopla, cut at Machines with Magnets and co-produced with Jim Eno of Spoon, followed in 2026.
Why Tubby's: A fearless Midtown Kingston spot with a nationally respected underground booking: punk, experimental, global and DJ nights, plus great natural wine.
